Exhibit on Jervois is a finely detailed residential building in Herne Bay, Auckland, offering a quiet yet deliberate expression of contemporary urban housing.
Its carved façade negotiates the tension between privacy and exposure, engaging Jervois Road through a rhythmic composition of concave bays. These voids, shaped by splayed geometries, moderate sightlines while admitting light and shadow, producing spatial depth and subtle visual complexity. In conversation with its neighbour, 113 Jervois, Exhibit offers a considered counterpoint — a subtle inversion of form.
Clad in textured limestone brick and rendered concrete, the material palette shifts from tactile solidity to a soft refined interior. The continuous splayed stone screen spans four levels, filtering views and lending a sculptural modulation to the street frontage.
Positioned between expansive sea views to the rear and an evolving retail frontage, the building adopts a singular, compact massing strategy.
